Nurse Practitioner - British Columbia (Remote Telehealth)

Location: Remote

About TeleTest

We are a growing telemedicine service providing accessible, patient-centered care in Ontario. We are starting to expand to other Canadian provinces, starting with BC.

Our mission is to provide test-based, guideline-driven telemedicine that finds risk early and delivers best-practice treatment through a unified, reliable online experience. Primarily, we help patients make informed decisions about their health by assisting them in obtaining medically-indicated lab testing, providing results, and subsequent education/treatment.

We are looking for people who are:

  • High-integrity, ethical, and committed to the patient's best interests.
  • Driven and passionate about medicine and technology.
  • Ambitious, hard-working, and have a bias for action.
  • Have a desire to change the status quo.

In turn, we seek to provide:

  • A service which never puts metrics or profit above a patient's best interests.
  • Medical and technical guidance and training where appropriate.
  • Career growth, with both managerial and technical opportunities.
  • Tools, software, and continuous platform improvements that allow you to be as effective as possible.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct messaging-based consultations with patients (asynchronous and real-time as required).
  • Manage common primary care presentations, including dermatology, urinary symptoms, sexual health/STI testing, women's health, and chronic condition follow-up.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests and imaging as appropriate.
  • Prescribe medications (within BC scope of practice) and arrange pharmacy delivery when needed.
  • Screen for and counsel on preventive care and harm reduction (e.g., sexual health, substance use screening when relevant).
  • Participate in ongoing training and case-based learning - we provide structured education and mentorship to build comfort with a wide range of common primary care complaints.

Requirements

  • Active Nurse Practitioner license in British Columbia.
  • Billing number with BC MSP.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a primary care setting (family practice, community health, or urgent care).
  • Comfortable managing a wide range of common outpatient issues suitable for virtual care.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to provide patient-centered, empathetic care in a digital setting.
  • Tech-savvy and adaptable to EMRs, secure messaging platforms, and digital workflows.

Nice to Have (not required)

  • Experience with STI testing, harm reduction, or addiction-related screening.
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms and virtual consult delivery.
  • Interest in ongoing professional development in virtual care innovation.

What We Offer

  • Flexible schedule: 4-8 hours/day, fully remote from anywhere in British Columbia.
  • Ongoing clinical training and education to build confidence in telemedicine-specific workflows.
  • A collaborative NP-physician support system for complex cases.
  • Work-life balance with no on-call or after-hours requirement.
  • Opportunity to be part of a fast-growing telemedicine service changing Canadian care.
