After serving over 50,000 patients in Ontario since 2021, TeleTest is now available in British Columbia. BC residents can use the platform the same way Ontario patients do: pick a service, fill out a health questionnaire, get assessed by a clinician, and receive your lab requisition or prescription.

How It Works
- Pick your service from our service catalog
- Fill out a health questionnaire so the clinician has context on your medical history
- Get assessed by a licensed clinician through our secure messaging platform
- Go to the lab or pharmacy. Your lab requisition is accepted at any BC lab, including LifeLabs and Dynacare. Prescriptions can be sent to whichever pharmacy you choose.
Most consultations are completed same-day. There are no referral requirements.
Lab Work at Any BC Lab
TeleTest works with all BC labs. Your requisition is accepted at any participating BC lab, including LifeLabs and Dynacare, so you can go wherever is convenient. In communities not served by LifeLabs or Dynacare, such as the Sea-to-Sky corridor (Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton), Powell River, and remote coastal communities, your requisition is also accepted at the public hospital and health centre lab collection sites run by Vancouver Coastal Health. Results come back electronically and your clinician reviews them and follows up with you through the platform. You can find a lab location near you here.
BC-Specific Details
A few things work differently in BC compared to Ontario:
- MSP vs. OHIP: BC uses the Medical Services Plan (MSP) rather than OHIP. Some tests that are covered under OHIP may have different coverage under MSP.
- Regulation: Our BC clinicians are licensed and regulated by their professional college: nurse practitioners by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and physicians by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
- Privacy: Patient data in BC is handled under the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and stored in our BC-based electronic medical records system.
Pricing
Our pricing in BC is the same as Ontario. STI testing starts at $49 and includes the consultation, requisition, and follow-up. You only pay for the clinician consultation; lab fees from the lab are separate and depend on the specific tests ordered. For tests covered by MSP, there is no additional lab fee.
