After serving over 50,000 patients in Ontario since 2021, TeleTest is now available in Alberta. Alberta residents can use the platform the same way Ontario patients do: pick a service, fill out a health questionnaire, get assessed by a clinician, and receive your lab requisition or prescription.

Most consultations are completed same-day. There are no referral requirements.
Lab Work at Alberta Precision Laboratories
All lab testing in Alberta goes through Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL). Once your clinician sends the requisition, you visit any Alberta Precision Laboratories location at a time that works for you. Results come back electronically and your clinician reviews them and follows up with you through the platform. You can find an Alberta Precision Laboratories location near you here.
Alberta-Specific Details
A few things work differently in Alberta compared to Ontario:
- AHCIP vs. OHIP: Alberta uses the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP) rather than OHIP. Some tests that are covered under OHIP may have different coverage under AHCIP.
- Regulation: Our Alberta clinicians are nurse practitioners registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Privacy: Patient data for Alberta residents is handled under Alberta's Health Information Act (HIA), with oversight from the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta (OIPC).
Pricing
Our pricing in Alberta is the same as Ontario. STI testing starts at $49 and includes the consultation, requisition, and follow-up. You only pay for the clinician consultation; lab fees from Alberta Precision Laboratories are separate and depend on the specific tests ordered. For tests covered by AHCIP, there is no additional lab fee.
