Yes! If you're under 25 with a valid Ontario health card (OHIP), your birth control medication is covered by OHIP+ at no cost when you pick it up at a pharmacy. Our $49 consultation fee still applies, but many private insurance plans cover this.

Since these require insertion by a healthcare provider, we also provide a referral to a local clinic for the procedure. Many pharmacies stock IUDs, so you can pick up the device and bring it to your insertion appointment.

You have two options: (1) Pick up at any pharmacy — we'll send the prescription electronically, or (2) Have it delivered to your door through our partner pharmacy. Delivery is available in Ontario only.

Yes! Many people choose to skip or reduce their periods using hormonal birth control. There are two main approaches:

Extended-cycle pills: These are specifically designed to give you only 4 periods per year. You take active pills continuously for 84 days, followed by 7 days of placebo pills when you have your period.

Continuous use of regular pills: With most combined pills, you can safely skip the placebo week and start a new pack right away. This means you skip your period entirely that month.

What to expect:

• Breakthrough bleeding/spotting is common in the first 3-6 months — this is normal and usually improves over time
• Some people experience bloating, breast tenderness, or mood changes
• It's medically safe to skip periods — the "period" on birth control isn't a real menstrual period anyway, it's withdrawal bleeding

No. We don't bill provincial healthcare for arranging your prescription, so there's no record sent to your family doctor or anyone else. Your family doctor won't know that you've used our service, what birth control you're taking, or even if you're using birth control at all. Your visit with us is completely confidential and doesn't affect your relationship with your family doctor in any way. You can choose to share this information with them if you wish, but that's entirely up to you.
