What is private testing?

Your results stay with you; we do not notify nor share results with your doctor.

If you test positive, we are required by law to notify Public Health Ontario of positive results.

You can decline any and all testing and simply request treatment.

For semi-anonymous testing, do not provide your health card number when signing up nor at the lab. However you will have to pay for the test out-of-pocket.

Concerned about immigration? Positive results will not make you inadmissible for PR.

Common Questions

After you speak with one of our physicians to make sure you have the appropriate tests, you can go to any lab of your choice (LifeLabs, Dynacare, AlphaLabs, etc.)

Where do I go for testing?

TeleTest is 100% online. That means regardless of where you are in Ontario, as long as you have a phone or computer, you can get the care you need.

Where do I speak with the doctor?

You simply log in to your account and reschedule to a time that works for you.

What if I miss my appointment?

Requisitions are valid up to 6 months so you can go to any lab right after the consult or whenever it is convenient for you.

How long is the lab requisition valid for?

Your results are automatically uploaded to your account as soon as they are ready. For urine tests, you can expect your results in 1-3 days. For blood work, it usually takes 3-5 days.

When will I receive my results?

OHIP covers testing for most STDs. You only pay to message with our physicians.

Does TeleTest accept OHIP?

Most tests are around $20 to $30 per STI. Depending on your exposure, our physicians can help choose the appropriate tests for you.

What if I don't have OHIP?

No, this only applies to walk-in clinics. Since TeleTest is an online clinic, your family doctor does not get penalized.

Will my family doctor get in trouble if I use TeleTest?

A TeleTest physician works with you to design a custom treatment plan that fits your needs. Our treatment plans can include oral and/or topical treatments based on what will work best for you.

Treatments are discussed by secure messaging and prescriptions are issued remotely to your preferred pharmacy.
